At Barbie Doll clothes that is. I have to admit I was so nervous to attempt it, but late one night I decided to give it a shot. I’m surprised how well they came out. I know they are far from perfect, but hey they fit and they are pretty darn cute, at least I think so. I know the seams are unfinished and not perfectly straight, but that is alright with me.
I made the jacket first. And then of course I needed a dress to go along with it. So an easy little strapless for this little doll.
Here is the back. Yeah I know, not so good. I was going by memory that Barbie clothes had velcro. So that is what I did on the back, but I didn’t need to velcro the whole length of the dress. I think I have found a quicker and cuter way of doing them now, just have to put my theory to the test, I’ll let you know. Or let me know if you have any good ways of doing it.
The jacket and purse were made out of flannel and I like the looks of the unfinished and frayed seams. It kinda looks like faux fur. Ya, totally the look I was going for. I wanted the sleeves to be 3/4 length and slightly flair along with a slight flair in the jacket. Unfortunately I should have made the jacket a little wider because it is far from closing, oops! Sorry Barbie hope you don’t live in NH.

So not bad for my first attempt.So hopefully you will be seeing some tutorials for baby clothes soon. I still need to work at it, but I would love to put a few “collections” together. How fun would that be?!
I love it. for a first attempt you did great. great idea for when I do (if God allows) have a daughter. and modest clothes to. I find even barbies clothes are getting a little to risky.

Well that jacket is so much prettier than the slutty number my daughter's Barbie currently has. I just finished up a dress for my niece's American Girl doll. It didn't fit her but it did fit Bitty Baby. Of course it was rather silly of me to alter the pattern cause I didn't like it then make it out of satin a tulle and then try some new sewing techniques. It looks cute but a pain. I'd post it but camera's down

I am so very impressed! I don't think I have the patience for Barbie clothes and the teeny tine little openings you have to work with. That dress came out fabulous! I would actually want one for myself (minus the velcro opening in the back, could you imagine?!! lol)

Amazing! You did a great job! I haven't tried to make doll clothes yet myself but I think they would be hard only because you are working with such a small piece of fabric.

These came out wonderful! And I know from experience that Barbie size clothes are definitely challenging. I really like the print of the dress with the color of the jacket, and the frayed edge of the flannel is a great touch (I don't think I would have ever thought of that).
Forgot to ask – is that a Disney barbie? She looks sort of like Belle.
