This past weekend we went to a Cider Party. We were really excited to be invited but we sure didn’t know what we were in for until we arrived. There were 2 truck beds full of apples, plus a bunch of tubs were full of apples! We quickly joined the others and got working. Apples needed to be sorted and washed. Apples needed to be cut up and ground.
Then of course the apples needed to be pressed. The cider was so yummy! And we definitely left with a far share of it.At the end of the day about 100 gallons of cider was made. We left with 3 tired but super happy little kids. Those two sure do know how to throw one great party! We are already looking forward to next years Cider Party.

How much fun! We went apple picking with my grown up babies a couple of weekends ago (I love that they still want to do that with us!) and today was apple day in the kitchen – pies, sauce and muffins. Don’t you just love fall!

I would love to do that! What a great experience!

I wonder if anyone has a party like that here in Australia! It does look very exciting and what a sense of fulfilment everyone must have left with. We get fruit fly here in our state of Queensland so don’t grow apples here.

My husband built his own press and I have pictures of our two grandchildren helping to make cider . He has since passed away and the grandchildren have moved away , but the memories linger . Looks like your family had a fun day like I remember having . Thanks for sharing.
