This year for Christmas I made lots of little coin clasp purses as gifts. I just think they are the cutest little things and make great gifts for everyone. Anyways, I will talk more about those on Friday for my Fat Quarter Friday but for now I wanted to share a pencil pouch that I made my son. The only difference was that I made the shape of the pouch different. It is so fun to see what you make with these clasps. All you have to know the basic construction of how to make them and then you can go crazy with your ideas. Don’t worry, Friday I will be linking to a great tutorial that shows you how to make a clasp coin purse. Until then I thought it would be fun to share this pencil pouch with you just to get your ideas rolling.
My son was actually the one who came up with the idea of making a pencil pouch with the clasps. He has an obsession with pens and pencils or anything that has to do with crafting. I’m sure he has inherited it from me. I used some of the scraps that I had left over from when I made the stuffed chicken and used denim for the inside. It can hold a lot of pens and pencils. Even an eraser or two along with a sharpener.
I was also thinking these would make great sunglass holders too. So stay tuned for Friday where you will see how to make clasp coin purses. Trust me, you cannot make just one! And then the different shapes will start coming too!
