As you may have noticed I have not sewn in months and my blogging has been pretty sparse as well. I have a very hard time being inside when the weather is so beautiful outside.
Instead of sewing I have been spending most of my time working around the house. I have been painting the house, adding onto my flower beds in the front as well as putting in two new walkways. And of course I have spent many hours out in the gardens.
The gardens are growing like crazy right now. I swear some days I could watch them grow right before my eyes. I took these pictures about a week ago and I am pretty sure it has doubled in size since then.
No matter how many times I plant a garden, I am always amazed at how fast a tiny little seed can grow into a large plant that bares fruit.
I harvested a 1/2 bushel of broccoli and cauliflower last night and our summer squash and zucchini will be ready in a few days. I think it is time to finally open up my farm stand.
Doesn’t it look beautiful!?
Any of you grow a garden?

We have lots of vegetables growing here in Australia, Christina. Where we live we can grow them year round which is great. You do have a healthy looking garden I must say.

Your garden looks amazing! Mine is full of weeds this year. I haven’t had the time to take care of it which just kills me.

Every year I’m so jealous of your garden. Beautiful.

In NC, we have been enjoying squash, cucumbers, okra, tomato, blueberries, strawberries, and now wonderful peaches. I made my grandmother’s blueberry cake and homemade peach ice cream over the 4th of July. It was all sooo yummy! I know that your children are loving the outdoor time. Grab on and cherish every minute of time that you can because you will turn around and they will be grown.

I just can’t get over your garden!!!!! I had no idea you had such an amazing plot. Something that size is on my “someday” wish list. So amazingly beautiful. I grow lots and lots and lots of flowers, but don’t really have a designated spot for edibles. I’ve always just sort of mixed them in with the flower beds. I’m trying them in the driveway this year, mostly in big black grower’s pots and one large raised container. So far so good! I’ve got lots of green tomatoes comin’, corn that’s taller than me, cucumbers coming out my ears, raspberries, eggplant, and basil. I did snap peas in the backyard flower beds and we’ve eaten a ton of those. And two blueberry bushes, also in the backyard, that have more than outdone themselves this year. We’ve eaten a ton of rhubarb goodies already, as well. Nothing compared to your magical wonderland, but nothin’ to shake a stick at either. 🙂
